Matthew Berman Mat Berman is a patent attorney and technology transfer expert with over ten years of experience in intellectual property. He has a PhD in plant biology from the University of California, Davis and obtained his law degree from George Washington University. During law school, Mat worked as a law clerk at Finnegan Henderson where he was trained in many aspects of patent prosecution and litigation. Subsequently, he spent eight years working as a technology transfer officer for the University of California system where he handled technologies from a wide range of fields, including biotech, electronics, materials, and agriculture. At University of California, Mat oversaw patent prosecution for nearly two hundred inventions. He was also responsible for negotiating, drafting, and enforcing agreements. Dr. Yong Deng Dr. Deng is a materials and process engineer with over fifteen years of industry experience. Dr. Deng holds a Masters degree in chemical engineering from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering with a minor in polymer sciences from Syracuse University. Julie Struble Dr. Struble works across a range of disciplines, including molecular biology, microbiology and genomics. She has a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers and a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Dr. Stuble previously worked at the National Renewable Energy Lab where she engineered bacterial strains for production of next-generation biofuels.
